Giovanni COSPITO (I)

Professor of Electroacoustic Music Composition and coordinator of the Department of Music and New Technologies at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan. His compositional activity includes both electroacoustic and mixed music works and, in the context of electroacoustic music, both computer music and acousmatic music.

His professional activity passes through various collaborations with Italian and European centers of Musical Informatics and Electroacoustic Music (CSC Padua, LIMB Venice, GMVL Lyon, AGON Milan, LASDIM Milan, EMS Stockholm, IRCAM Paris,…); productions for festivals, radio broadcasts, concerts and reviews; theoretical elaboration and teaching (University of Trento, Potenza, the Swiss SSPM, the Italian SIEM for which he curated the “Music and new technologies” Forum); the composition and staging of multimedia musical works with the use of interactive digital technology (Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Opera Total in Venice, the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa, “The Theaters of New Music” of the Festival della Terra delle Gravine, the Candiani Center of Venice, …); the production of video-poetry, video-art and video-dance; the creation of applications in various areas of design and sound interaction.

He directs the METAS-Volumes Association with which he takes care of events and installation projects and the production and performance of Acousmatic Music in an international network project.
