Mathew Jonson (1978) is a Canadian producer, DJ, and musician who has masterfully fused analog electronic music with a melodic and rhythmic aesthetic, integrating elements of jazz improvisation. With a traditional musical background, Jonson has a natural aptitude for melody and harmony, which he incorporates into his live sets, manipulating electronic instruments in real time to deliver a unique experience to his audience.
Active since the early 2000s, he has become a central figure in the techno and house scene, thanks to his style that combines compositional complexity with emotional immediacy, live improvisation, and meticulously crafted production.
