Mattia Loris Siboni (1996) is an Italian composer, musician, improviser and sound artist based in Bologna (IT). Passionate about the world of sound since he was a child, he began his musical studies devoting himself to classical guitar. Then, wanting to pursue his own musical research, he graduated with honors and honorable mention in Electronic Music and afterward with honors in Sound Design at the Conservatory G.B. Martini in Bologna.
His main interests are the acousmatic music composition and live music interpretation on multichannel systems and acousmonium. Fascinated by silence as a compositional parameter, he develops his own personal research trough soundscape and human interaction, respecting the sound objects and the space they occupy. He works with expectation, absence and surprise, investigating the threshold of musical perception and seeking evocative and extra-musical aspects.
He’s active in the field of improvisation and live music in various formation as well as in solo. He is member of “Minus – Collettivo d’improvvisazione” and of the duo project “Catopter” with Giulio Stermieri. Mattia Loris Siboni is also co-founder and artistic director of Slowth Records, the record label dedicated to the promotion and support of experimental music.
