In her works she explores the multiple facets of the sonic dimension by deepening aspects relating to the physics of sound, the design of unconventional listening devices, the investigation around “sound contexts”, situations in which a “musical event” is strongly anchored to a given practice, function or cultural environment.

Began as a saxophone player, by training through a variety of musical experiences: from industrial to high contemporary music, improvised and music for theatre. Between 1990 and 2000 she founded, together with other musicians in Bologna, a number of new musical groups: Laboratorio Musica & Immagine, Fastilio, Eva Kant, Antenata. The area of investigation on sound research has subsequently spread to interdisciplinary artistic experiences, to the adoption of an electro-acoustic instrumentation and increasingly frequent incursions into performance.

In 2002 she founded, together with video artist Lino Greco, Mylicon / En. The duo, in addition to creating installation projects and audio-video works, experiments new compositional forms inside the dimension of audio-video live set.
Has collaborated and performed with well-known musicians and improvisers of the international experimental scene: Fred Frith, Barry Guy, Alvin Curran, Zeena Parkins, Charles Hayward, Butch Morris, Jon Rose, Margareth Kammerer, Stevie Wishart, Stefano Pilia, Andrea Belfi, Clementine Gasser, Carol Robinson, Paolo Angeli, John Oswald, Luciano Maggiore, Sabina Meyer, Fabrizio Spera…

Along side her artistic research, for years she has taught a course in sound design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and has recently began to collaborate closely with Tempo Reale, the centre for musical research and production founded in Florence by composer Luciano Berio.
