Percussionist, awarded the Leone d’Argento at the Venice Biennale Music in 2010 (Repertorio Zero project).
His exploration of sound, design of new instruments, and creation of innovative compositional solutions for percussion have led him to collaborate with prominent composers, artists, and international ensembles, including Berlin Piano Percussion, EnsembleKollektiv, Klangforum Wien, mdi, Mosaik, Phace, Prometeo, Sentieri Selvaggi, and Zeitkratzer.
He has performed with Italy’s most prestigious orchestras, such as the Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Claudio Abbado’s Orchestra Mozart, Spiramirabilis, and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
As a soloist, he is a dedicated interpreter of 20th and 21st-century music, performing at festivals such as Aperto, Autumn Warsaw, Biennale di Venezia, Biennale Zagreb, Gaida in Vilnius, Huddersfield Contemporary Music, Krakow International, Impuls in Graz, Manca in Nice, Milano Musica, and Traiettorie.
He is the founding member and artistic director of ZAUM_percussion, an ensemble created during the three-year residency (2018–21) at Festival Milano Musica. He has released four solo albums (on the Stradivarius label) and contributed to numerous other recordings for various European labels.
