An evening featuring the highly anticipated ambient set by Canadian artist Mathew Jonson, titled Freedom Engine, and the Milan debut of the young Dutch electronic music talent Thessa Torsing, known as upsammy.
The concert will open with Thessa Torsing. Her new live set, titled Strange Meridians, represents the latest evolution of her musical approach, combining atmospheric tracks and fluid sounds that evoke surreal landscapes with both recognizable and unfamiliar natural elements. In Strange Meridians, upsammy employs delicate crystalline melodies interwoven with complex rhythms, often enriched by field recordings and organic textures. The connection between synthetic and natural elements is a hallmark of her DJ sets and albums.
The second part of the evening is entrusted to one of the leading figures of the contemporary electronic scene: Mathew Jonson, known for his signature style blending techno, house, and more experimental sounds.
In his new project, Freedom Engine, Jonson masterfully merges analog electronics with an engaging melodic and rhythmic aesthetic, incorporating elements of jazz improvisation alongside intricate sequences, powerful basslines, and fluid yet unexpected melodies.
